Peaceful Heart Ceremonies

Kerry Fong-Jean - Reverend and Ordained Minister with Clergy Support Memorial Church( A Church Without Walls) BA, B.Ed.

I am honoured to serve the community by performing Celebrations of Life, Bedside Blessings and Baptisms and Welcome Ceremonies. I am accepting of all faiths and believe that we are all connected and all one. Not one person is better than another and we are all brothers and sisters on our earth.

I believe nature and its beauty is something that provides peace and connects us all. That is why I enjoy including it in some way for each ceremony I perform. I love performing ceremonies outdoors if possible. I acknowledge the very special role pets serve in our lives and am very happy to honour them and/or include them if desired.

Celebrations of Life

Kerry Fong-Jean celebrations of life and bedside blessings Brockville Ontario.jpg

I believe that we are all on a hero’s journey and every one of us contributes to the world in some important way. I want to celebrate the life and the gifts your loved one has given.

I will meet with you and your family to hear your memories and favorite stories so I may share them to honour their life and passions. I look forward to creating a personal and meaningful ceremony, I encourage your input and participation in any way you can.

There are many ways to include their unique qualities and passions in a service that shows everyone who your loved one was. Young children singing or speaking is especially touching and uplifting. Favorite memorabilia displayed and sweet eccentricities shared make the day commemorating them even more special.

I believe love never dies and love never ends. Love is forever and it is just a matter of time before we meet again. Having a personalized service for your loved one and sharing stories about them is the first step to grieving and healing.

I look forward to serving you, your family and your loved one and honouring their uniqueness and their gifts in a respectful and meaningful way.

Bedside Blessings

It's so important to leave this world surrounded by love, peace and beauty; it helps not only your loved one but their family and friends.

I will come to your loved ones bedside, hold their hand and/or yours and surround them with love, light and peace. I will give them a tender gentle blessing to help them crossover in peace without fear. With an open heart and mind and nonjudgmental ears I will listen if they have anything they may want to share.

I love nature and use its healing powers to help ease the passage. I may use sage, palo santo (holy stick), blessed water, eagle feathers and special stones if the person and family are comfortable. I am very open to personal suggestions and love to include special requests. Favorite flowers, music, reading poetry...and anything that brings beauty and comfort to your loved one is welcome.

Creating an atmosphere of love with positive words and beauty eases the transition and Instills peace. I believe death is a new beginning and we will all meet our loved ones again.

Assisted Dying Emotional Support

It is my honour to serve you and your family in the most caring way possible at this difficult time. This is a serious, conscious decision that must come from the heart and mind. However, once the choice has been made, I feel it is my responsibility to support you and your loved ones and create an experience that is meaningful and important.

Many people have strong opinions about this topic. This is a highly personal decision that only you can make. I respect this choice and will do everything possible to support your journey home and your loved ones. It is my belief that it is just a matter of time before we meet again and our love lives on.

Pet Honouring

I acknowledge the very special role pets serve in our lives and am very happy to honour their contribution and importance to you and your family. I love including them in any of the ceremonies I do.

It truly is hard to believe how upsetting it is to lose a pet. Unless you have had this beautiful bond with a beloved pet, it’s difficult to understand the grief possible when they pass. It may shock others who don’t understand this love. Please honour your grief no matter what. It is an emotional roller coaster whether it’s a pet or a human.

Pets are pure unconditional love and their loss is incredibly heartbreaking. If you desire a ceremony as a tribute to them, I would be happy to help create a unique service to commemorate them for all the love they have given.

Baptisms and Welcoming

It would be an honour to bless and welcome your beautiful child into this world! I perform baptisms through Clergy Support Memorial Church. Please contact me personally.

Baptism and Naming ceremony is a celebration in which a child receives a name and parents pledge themselves to provide a good environment for their child. It's also a wonderful opportunity for adult friends or relatives to confirm their special relationship with your child.

A Welcoming Ceremony is a very special way of celebrating the birth of your child and welcoming the new arrival into the family and the wider community. It is also ideally suited to welcome and celebrate an adoptive child into the family or to embrace stepchildren into a new family. With both the Baptism and Welcoming ceremonies I encourage your suggestions and your tastes to make this important occasion personally rewarding for all of you.

A personal beautiful welcoming ceremony or baptism ceremony in your home or backyard, surrounded by family and friends is a wonderful experience. I can make your secularor spiritual ceremony a special day for all of you to cherish.

My Personal Journey

Rev Kerry Fong-Jean - Reverend and Appointed Minister with Clergy Support Memorial. BA(Carleton) B.Ed (UofO)

I am trained in creating and performing Celebrations of Life, completed a grief and palliative care course, and been at the bedside of many who have passed. I have had many jobs including teacher, flight attendant and Bed and Breakfast owner. I am a certified reflexologist and Reiki practitioner. The common denominator is people, I love people and want to help bring in peace any way I can.

I realized how important it is to make choices based on your loved ones preferences after my father passed. My Mom and I wanted something completely different from the traditional religious service, as that just wasn’t my Dad.

We rented a room overlooking a lake for the wake. Since it was close to Christmas, we bought Christmas trees with lights and lit the room with homemade beeswax candles and bright red and gold linen. Our friends and neighbours were overwhelmed by the feel of warmth, love and peacefulness. It felt wonderful to think “out of the box” and do something that Daddy would have loved.

I gave the Eulogy for my Dad and felt so honoured to speak of my love, his love and gifts he gave to our family, especially his cooking!!

Instead of the usual sandwiches, we took everyone out for Chinese Dim Sum, his favorite meal, at his favorite restaurant. I know he was with us in spirit.

By participating in the preparation and organizing of his Celebration my Mom and I felt we were able to give back and honour my Dad. This helped us in our grieving and healing process.

I look forward to serving you, your family and your loved one, honoring their uniqueness and their gifts in a respectful and meaningful way.

An Angel Walks Beside Us

Each one of us receives an angel guardian at birth, who walks beside us every day we spend on earth.
Invisible, these angels never leave us day or night.
They know our fears and whisper,
“Things are going to be all right.”
They give us strength and purpose, keep our hope and courage strong,
They fill our minds with wisdom and our spirits with a song.

“It doesn’t matter if you believe in God or not, you still have a guardian angel.”
— Lorna Byrne

My Creed

I would be true, for there are those who trust me,

I would be pure, for there are those who care.

I would be strong, for there is much to suffer,

I would be brave, for there is much to dare.

I would be a friend of all- the foe- the friendless,

I would be giving and forget the gift.

I would be humble and know my weakness,

I would look up and love and lift.
